PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron stated he was confident that U.S. President Donald Trump would reverse his choice to pull the United States from the Paris environment accord, inning accordance with weekly paper Le Journal du Dimanche (JDD) on Sunday.

“(Trump) informed me that he would look for an option in the coming months,” Macron informed the paper, describing conferences the 2 leaders had today in Paris.

“We spoke in information about the important things that might make him return to the Paris accord,” he included.

Trump has stated the Paris accord is soft on leading polluters like China and India, putting U.S. market at threat.

Trump on Friday appeared to hold the door available to a modification of position on the 2015 Paris environment modification contract which he pulled the United States from previously this year.

The accord, reached by almost 200 nations in 2015, was suggested to restrict global warming to 2 degrees or less by 2100, generally through promises to cut co2 and other emissions from the burning of nonrenewable fuel sources.
